Stats and Starting Lineup
Whole30 is officially underway!!!
My starting stats were less than appealing as I measured in at 148 total inches. This measurement includes my bust, waist, hips and both arms. Nonetheless, it can only get better from here!
"Look in the mirror...that's your competition."
To make this journey seem a bit less lonely, I invested in a few trusty companions to help me get through these next 30 days. My first Whole30 purchase was a box of Tessemae's compliant condiments and dressings which just so happened to arrive on Monday. So far, I have only tried the creamy ranch dressing on my taco toss salad last evening for dinner, but I was pleasantly surprised. I am looking forward to trying the others!
I have also invested in three resources and guides to help me stay fresh on my Whole30 knowledge. "The Whole30: The 30-Day Guide to Total Health and Food Freedom" book covers everything from an introduction to the program to recipes and Whole 30 essentials. "It Starts with Food" provides a more in-depth breakdown of the Whole30 program and how noncompliant foods affect the body. Lastly, "The Whole30 Day by Day" serves as a journal to document successes, areas of needed improvement and reflections.
As for food, I took advantage of having a little free time on Easter and meal prepped for this week to help keep me on track. Breakfast features hard boiled eggs. Lunch features shredded chicken breasts, cinnamon whipped sweet potatoes and Cuties. Dinner features a taco toss salad made of lean ground beef, green pepper, onion, cherry tomatoes and avocado served atop a bed of Spring mix and topped with pico de gallo and a drizzle of Tessamae's creamy ranch (not pictured). I can honestly say I enjoyed every meal thus far as they were each packed with protein and flavor.
Overall, Day 1 was a success! Next up, Day 2!!!
